Flamingo Holdings has officially inaugurated Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort in Tan Trao, Son Duong, Tuyen Quang—a land long regarded as the heart of Vietnam’s revolutionary capital. The opening ceremony was part of the launch of Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2025, solemnly held at the resort’s premises.

Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort is the first premium onsen resort complex in Tan Trao, spanning 25 hectares along the banks of the Pho Day River. The property comprises three main zones, offering 330 villas, villa shops, and a luxury hotel.

Guests at Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort enjoy an “all-in-one” vacation model, with a multi-layered ecosystem of 5-star amenities.

A highlight of the project is the Flamingo Riverside Centre—a modern riverside hub of shopping, dining, and entertainment designed to serve both visitors and local residents.

During its opening week, the resort offered guests a vibrant program combining art, culture, and entertainment.

At the center of these activities was the LaLa Town Cultural & Heritage Festival, held from April 30 to May 3, featuring contemporary street performances, a traditional highland market, and immersive spaces recreating Vietnam’s cultural heritage. Meanwhile, Tuyen Quang’s first-ever lantern festival transformed the Pho Day River into a sparkling new check-in destination.

A new gateway to the land of revolution

Located in the heart of this heritage-rich region, Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort is not only a premier leisure destination but also a gateway to journeys of historical discovery.

The Tan Trao Destination Centre, serving as the resort’s main welcome hub, hosts cultural festivals, artistic performances, and events year-round, offering visitors an engaging introduction to the area’s history and traditions.

From the resort, guests can easily connect to iconic “red addresses” of the revolutionary capital such as Na Nua Shack, Hong Thai Communal House, and the Tan Trao Banyan Tree.

In addition, curated thematic tours are available for those wishing to explore more deeply the legacy of central agencies that once laid their foundations in this resistance base during Vietnam’s heroic struggle for independence.

Also departing from the Tan Trao Destination Centre, the Pho Day River historical tour is a new initiative by Flamingo Holdings. This journey offers a unique combination of nature, culture, and history.

Along the river route, visitors can stop at revolutionary relics, listen to vivid historical stories, or enjoy traditional Then folk singing amidst a serene riverside setting.

From revolutionary roots to a heritage destination

Launched on the eve of the 50th anniversary of National Reunification and in the lead-up to the 80th anniversaries of the Tan Trao National People’s Congress, the August Revolution, and National Day (September 2), the opening of Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort marks a significant milestone—both honoring the past and envisioning the future.

Notably, the resort was chosen as the venue for the launch of Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2025, underscoring Flamingo Holdings’ commitment to contributing to the province’s socio-economic development.

On this occasion, the resort also introduced a special exhibition titled “80 Years of Steadfastness from the Heart of the Revolution.” The exhibition pays tribute to Vietnam’s resilient journey from the August Revolution to victory in the resistance against French colonialism, through rare historical photographs and archives. It serves as both a solemn commemoration and a call to preserve the nation’s heritage.

Complementing this historical narrative, the exhibition also showcases the natural beauty and contemporary culture of Tuyen Quang, inspiring visitors to explore the province during Tourism Year 2025. The exhibition will remain open until year’s end, becoming a cultural and historical highlight in the revolutionary capital of Tan Trao.

The “80 Years of Steadfastness” exhibition also serves as the opening event for a year-long series of festivals and celebrations at Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort, marking key milestones in Vietnam’s history throughout 2025.

With the presence of Flamingo Heritage Onsen & Resort, Tuyen Quang’s tourism landscape is undergoing a remarkable transformation. Beyond infrastructure breakthroughs, the project represents the beginning of a sustainable journey to unlock cultural and historical values creatively, positioning Tuyen Quang as a leading heritage and eco-tourism destination.
